It’s 12 AM and I still can’t stop listening to this track. Kate Pending is back with a remix and I had a really good time with this release. I’ve heard the original, and what impressed me here is that she didn’t just change a few things and call it a remix. She actually reshaped it into something that sounds more focused.
Her synth work is the biggest reason for that. The original has its own charm, but Kate’s version is cleaner and more controlled, and better put together. Every synth line has a purpose and the arrangement never becomes messy. She adds great textures and small electronic details but the track still has room to breathe. That balance isn’t easy to pull off. I liked her vocal tone. It’s not trying to dominate the remix, but it adds a really nice touch that gives the track more character. Along with the catchy vocal hook, it helps the remix settle into its own identity rather than live in the shadow of the original.
The production and mixing are polished. It’s one of those electronic tracks that comes alive on good speakers or during a drive. The quality stays high all the way through. I enjoyed this remix even more than I expected. Kate Pending shows real confidence as a producer and I honestly think this version improves on the original in a few important ways. I’m looking forward to hearing where she goes next.
