Pisgah is back with a new single “Delphinus and Dippers” and I love how much passion she puts into her music. That emotion is a big reason why I enjoy every release she shares and this song is another reason to keep listening.
The song is simple, but the production sounds professional and handled with so much care. The instrumental work is excellent, giving Brittney Jenkins (aka Pisgah) so much space to carry the song with her pure voice and soft melodies. There is an Americana touch with alternative rock, a mix that suits her style.
Recorded during the sessions for her album “Faultlines” this song explores the mix of gratitude and worry that can come with living in a troubled world. That idea gives the track something to sit with after it ends. The writing is honest and the music lets the meaning come through without complicated arrangements.
Her voice is the main character here. Her delivery is smooth and emotional and her vocal ability is impressive. The melodies are captivating and I like how she keeps things straightforward while still making the song deep. The production, instrumental parts, and writing support one another.
Pisgah is a talented artist and I’m happy this song is finding its way out into the world now. She’s become one of my few favorite names over the last few months. Honestly, I’d love to hear more from her and I’ll be keeping an ear out for whatever she shares next.
