Blueprint Tokyo – Dark New Days

About a year ago I wrote about Blueprint Tokyo on my blog, right around the time I got hooked on their album “Neon Circuits and the Mission of Hope”. I still remember playing that record every day for weeks with headphones on and realizing this band had something different going on. They dropped a few singles after that, but I never got a chance to cover them. So hearing their new EP “Dark New Days” now honestly feels like catching up with an old favorite band again.

This EP is such a good listen. The energy across these songs grabbed me almost immediately, especially the way the guitars and synths keep pushing everything forward. Their melodies still have that sharp edge that made me like them last year. Nothing here sounds generic or copied from the usual indie rock formula.

I really liked how full the instrumentation sounds. Small details keep showing up in the background and the production gives every track room without making things messy. The choruses stayed in my head long after the EP ended. This band truly cares about every note they put into these songs. You can hear the attention behind the writing. The lyrics here are strong and meaningful. The songs are about holding on during difficult moments and trying to keep moving anyway.

This time I’m definitely keeping my eyes closer on Blueprint Tokyo. I don’t want to miss the next release again.
