Allan Jamisen is back with “Leave It All Behind” and I’m happy to share one of his best songs. I enjoyed this one, especially the chorus and I’d love to hear what you think about it.
His melodies are part of why I love his music and the lyrics give this single something to say beyond its rich sound. His guitar-led alt-rock sound suits it. The song explores leaving a stagnant life behind and starting somewhere new, while recognising that the past does not disappear just because you change your surroundings. It’s an interesting thought, and Allan handles it without making the song feel like a lecture.
The chorus is my favourite part. It has a strong melody that will stay with you and you may find yourself singing it by the next morning. Allan’s smooth delivery works well with the arrangement and the backing vocals add another layer without taking attention away from him. The guitar work deserves mention. There is so much happening in the instrumentation, but everything has its place. The production and mixing are excellent and the care Allan puts into this side of his music is impressive.
I like Allan’s style and this release is another reminder of why I’ve enjoyed following his music. “Leave It All Behind” gave me a lot to enjoy, but that chorus is what I’ll remember. I’m happy I got to hear this one and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
