Mad Painter is a professional band that just landed on my radar with their new release “Island Poetry”. It’s the kind of album that reminds me why I keep coming back to classic rock. I really enjoyed listening to this record and the band’s energy and passion won me over. If you’re after that old-school rock sound, with strong guitar work and solos, you’re in the right place.
It’s an amazing 12 track journey that keeps things lively. Mad Painter have real talent and know how to make their instruments work together. The guitars get room to shine, while the band’s playing gives the songs a lively push. It’s an album packed with moments and I had a lot of fun listening.
The first title “Debt Collector” is my favorite track here, and honestly, it’s the one that kept me listening. The solos caught my attention, but I also loved the full and rich instrumentation and the strong vocals, which suit the classic sound so well. There’s a satisfying mix of grit and melody in the performance and the track gave me good reason to keep going with the album instead of stopping after a couple of songs.
That’s what I enjoyed about this release as a whole. It sticks to the kind of rock Mad Painter love, while giving each track a chance to bring something unique. I like albums that make me want to hear the next song and this one did that for me. I’m happy I spent time with it and I’m already excited to hear what they release next.
