Back in July, I wrote about “Heart” by Never Enough In Love, the project led by UK producer and songwriter Neil Durrant. Now he’s back with “Made Love” the title track of his new EP, and my opinion of his work hasn’t changed. This is an artist with skill and passion and I really enjoyed listening to this track.
The song is about wanting a love that gives as much as it asks for. It starts gently, with soft piano and Neil’s soft vocal delivery leading the way. The melodies are strong and easy to get caught up in and the lyrics keep the song close and personal. The production and mixing are excellent. Everything sounds carefully put together but never takes attention away from the emotion at the core of the track. I like how the song grows. The vocal and arrangement gain power bit by bit, until the ending opens up into something much bigger. That final part is my favourite. The layers grow fuller and the sound gets stronger and richer.
I think Neil has something special here. This song shows both the softer side of his songwriting and his ability to build a powerful finish without losing the song’s heart. This single gives me another reason to follow his work closely. I’m excited to see where Never Enough In Love goes over the coming months. Keep an eye on this one, my friend.
