Martina Lupi opens her new album “Dannate Salvatrici” with a voice that immediately won me over. I loved every second of this album and her classy and gentle way of singing made the whole listen memorable. Before I even reached the second track, I had the feeling I was listening to something made with real care and passion.
This record brings together 10 of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time. The melodies stuck with me long after the album ended and I kept wanting to hear them again. Martina’s voice is pure and the way she delivers each line kept my attention the whole time. It’s catchy and everything sounds honest and well placed.
The instrumentation is simple but there is so much happening inside it. Small details appear throughout the songs while the light jazzy touch gives the album its unique character. It never gets crowded and every instrument has room to breathe. The songs are inspired by mythology, dreams and personal change which give the album another layer.
I enjoyed spending time with this record. It reminded me that quiet albums can leave the biggest impression when they are written with care. Martina Lupi has made an album I’ll happily revisit and I honestly want to follow where her music goes next. She is an artist to watch and I can’t wait to hear what she creates after this beautiful debut.
