TaniA Kyllikki is back with a new single and I loved spending time with “HUMAN”. It’s always good to hear a new release from an artist whose music I enjoy, and this one gave me so much to enjoy. The track brings together electronic dance sounds and a strong soul influence, with TaniA’s catchy voice right at the center.
Her performance is powerful but she also knows when to ease back and let the melody do the work. The hook is memorable and the melodies mesh perfectly with the lyrics. There’s a great message behind the song. TaniA is speaking about the divisions people create through race, background and judgement, and asking us to treat one another with more empathy. It gives the track something to say without taking away from its beautiful energy.
Her husband, Rynellton, handled the music and production, and he has done a good job building the sound around her voice. The sound design is polished, the beats keep things moving, and the different elements fit together nicely. I really enjoyed the atmosphere he created here. There is so much energy here, but the arrangement still leaves room for TaniA’s voice to lead the song.
I really enjoyed listening to her new single. You can hear the care that has gone into the music and the combination of her performance and Rynellton’s production works so well. It’s a track I can easily see myself playing again, and I’m looking forward to hearing what she shares with us on her next releases.
