Julia and Max are a sibling duo that just landed on my radar with their new single “FOOL” and I’m already hooked on their voices and the energy they bring. The pop melodies are captivating and make it a lovely listen. The song is about putting too much of yourself into a relationship when the other person isn’t giving much back. That’s a familiar kind of disappointment and I liked how honestly the writing approaches it. Julia and Max are talented and give the song a unique and warm atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the guitars and keys along with the synth work that adds another layer to the arrangement. Everything supports the melodies and vocals. Both voices are catchy and easy to listen to and their harmonies give the song its unique character. The chorus is lovely with a lift in energy that made me want to hear it again as soon as it ended.
I’ve listened to this song over and over and it hasn’t lost its charm. The melodies are soft and sit nicely beside the upbeat parts and the track has a nice pop-rock edge without losing its warmth.
