Jasoh – ROOFIEZ

It’s honestly been years since I heard Hip-Hop like this. That is probably the first thing I should say about this new album “ROOFIEZ”. There are still artists making this kind of raw and good music. Seeing Jasoh keeping that rougher side of Hip-Hop alive made me happy. So, yeah, I was very happy to spend some time with this 7-track album.

“EVEN PAINS” gets things moving with a rough and noisy sound that doesn’t try to hide its edges. I actually like that about it. The track carries great energy and variety and Slim Spitta adds a nice touch to the collaboration. Then I got to “CHROMATIC” and that one was an easy favorite for me. The female hook works nicely, but Jasoh is the reason I kept coming back to it. His delivery is smooth and confident, and his flow sits really well over the beat. I liked the strength in his lyrics here. He sounds sure of himself without having to push it too hard.

The rest of the album keeps that same raw attitude going. Great flows, strong lyrics, creative production and beats that give each track something to work with. I noticed how much care has gone into the instrumentals. There’s passion behind this project, and it comes through without needing a big explanation.

II enjoyed this album a lot, tbh. It brought me back to a style I haven’t heard this much in years, and that alone made the listen worthwhile. Jasoh is an artist I want to support and I’m curious to hear what he does next. He is going directly to my favorite list!
