Good morning! My favorite name, Banquet Darling is back and this time they have brought a full album with them. “NOW” is the kind of record I wanted to spend some time with. There is so much energy running through these songs. I have always liked the fun side of this artist’s music, but hearing that energy stretched across a whole album makes this one special.
The production and mixing are excellent, with good sounds, strong melodies, and vocals that sit right where they need to. Todd Kilby has a voice I really enjoy hearing and his delivery gives the songs their unique character. I really liked his lyrics. They touch on love, hope, acceptance, and the confusion that can come with having too much going on in your head, which fits the idea behind NOW without making things feel too heavy.
“Morning Sun” opens the album in a great way and it’s also my favorite track here. I loved the energy in this one right away, especially the melodies and the way the vocals work with the production. There is a lot going on, but it stays enjoyable. The vocal delivery is excellent and the production has a professional touch while still sounding creative.
I really liked spending time with this album. The songs have their unique sounds and melodies, and there are so many moments I can see myself coming back to. Banquet Darling has a clear vision. I love Todd’s voice, and this album gave me another reason to keep an eye on what comes next.
