I’m super excited to write about Summerhouse, to be honest, because this is the kind of style I could happily keep on repeat all day. “All I Know” is his debut song, and you can hear how much care has gone into putting it together. It also features Angie Robba whose voice gives the track a strong emotional pull. She definitely has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard.
The song deals with the messy side of an on-and-off relationship, where panic, doubt and those brief moments of thinking you have finally moved on can keep repeating. That uneasy side gives the song its unique character. I like how Summerhouse doesn’t make that story too obvious. The guitars, drums and synths help carry the confusion. There is a dark and haunting atmosphere running through the track.
Angie’s voice and delivery work well with the lyrics. They sound honest and she puts so much emotion into the lyrics. I loved the sound design here. The instrumentation was created with care and the whole production has a professional finish. The mixing is great and the mastering is done really well, so everything sits together without losing the character of the song.
I really like what Summerhouse is doing here. This is a debut that gives me a good reason to keep an eye on him, and I’m very excited to hear where this sound goes next.
