Lottie Gray just landed on my radar with her new EP “The Big Idea” and I have to say, you can hear how much heart and care she has put into this music. That is probably the biggest reason I connected with it. There is a lot going on with these 6 songs, but it never loses Lottie’s personality. Her voice caught my attention right away, especially the way she can move from soft tones into more powerful moments without making it sound like she is trying too hard. Her writing has real weight. She talks about things like self-realisation, emotional clarity and the mess that can come with relationships.
I really liked the guitars and the production choices. Everything is put together with care and the choruses give the songs those moments you want to hear again. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be “Worst Punchline”. I loved the emotion in Lottie’s delivery, the power behind the sound, and the way all the pieces come together. That does not make the other tracks any less impressive. This one just has that mix of emotion and power that makes it special for me.
I love her voice and I have a feeling those choruses will be staying with me for days. Lottie is definitely an artist I’ll be keeping an eye on.
