Chatterless landed on my radar a few weeks ago with his new release “DECUMANUS” and I spent some time with it last night before deciding to write this review. I also went through a few of his previous releases, which made this track easier to understand as part of what he has been building. “DECUMANUS” has a dark synthwave sound with a driving low end that gives the track its direction. It has that film-score side to it too, but I would not say it sounds like background music. It pushes forward and creates its own space. The production is polished and I liked how carefully each element sits in the mix without making the track feel crowded. The track never loses its direction, even when the atmosphere gets heavier.
There is also something about the track that made me picture stepping into a different world, one where you walk in with confidence and know you own the room. That idea fits the music well. Chatterless sounds like an artist who is comfortable exploring different moods and his work as a producer feels focused.
I think this track is perfect for workout and night-driving playlists. It has enough movement to keep things going, while the darker side gives it weight. After spending the night listening to this track and digging into his earlier work, I came away impressed. He is making music with care and passion and this is a strong and deep track that took me to another universe.
