It has been more than a year since I discovered Allan Jamisen and his music still feels like one of those hidden gems I am glad I found. He has the talent, passion, and ability to become one of the best artists out there and “Milk & Honey” is another good reason to keep following his work. There is more to discover.
What always catches my attention is the tone of Allan’s voice. There is something in the way he delivers these lyrics that made me want to listen closely, especially with the female harmonies sitting behind his vocals. It’s a very personal record with lyrics about coming back home and realizing that the place you once knew can change, or maybe you have changed along the way. I liked how that idea comes through without making the song too heavy. The atmosphere is light and catchy, but there is still some emotion underneath it.
I also liked the production and sound design. Everything has its place and the song is easy to play again without getting tired of it. Allan puts so much care into his music and that’s what makes me love his work without thinking twice. This new single is another reminder of why I have kept an eye on Allan Jamisen for the past year. His voice, songwriting and attention to sound make this a song I can easily recommend and I am excited to hear where he takes things next.
