The Heat Inc. just landed on my radar with their new single “Mind Control” and it has been an amazing listen from start to end. There is a strong energy running through this band and I liked how fast the song pulled me into their sound.
Jon Dodd has a strong voice and great presence behind the mic. His delivery has so much character and I really liked the way his sound gives the song its unique identity. The vocal melodies are strong and memorable too and they stayed with me hours after the track was over.
Marco Simoncelli does some seriously good work on guitar. His playing adds weight without taking over while Nico Rigot keeps everything moving underneath with great bass lines that give the track a solid base. Maurizio Vitale is so important here. His drumming adds drive and helps bring the whole arrangement together. I also liked the lyrics and the darker idea behind the song with its strange picture of past relationships, regret and a warning to anyone stepping into that world.
I loved the instrumentation and the melodies here. The Heat Inc. sound like a professional band that knows how to make rock music with passion and care and that matters to me. That passion is exactly why I love rock. I really enjoyed spending time with their music and I’m happy this band landed on my radar.
