This duo was new to me and that is one of the things I love about writing this blog and following indie music. You get to discover new names all the time. OBLIK OBLOKI caught my attention with their new single, “Forever Young” and I had a good time listening to it.
The song brings electronic sounds and synth work into the mix in a way that keeps things moving without making the track too busy. I really liked the instrumentation here. There is a lot going on, but the pieces mesh well with the sound design, so everything has its place. The synths give the song a nice lift while the percussion and guitars keep it moving. I also liked the lyrics and the vocal melodies. The vocals are rich but easy to listen to, and the production and mixing help keep everything clear. The song carries a playful side, while the idea of staying young gives the lyrics another little layer.
OBLIK OBLOKI is one of my best discoveries and their new single gave me a reason to keep an eye on them. I really like hearing artists who mix electronic ideas with indie pop. There is enough here to make me want to hear more. This is a promising introduction to the duo and I’m super happy I found them on another day of digging through independent music.
