I’ve just discovered an amazing band and I’m so excited to wrote about them. Michael Landgarten and The Converts caught my attention with their new album “The Long Highway”. There’s something beautiful about the way this record comes together. I really enjoyed the lyrics and the melodies and the gentle music. The atmosphere is captivating and the production is professional and kept me interested. I really liked the production work and the instrumentation which fit the songwriting without taking attention away from it.
The album touches on love, loss, identity and even facing difficult moments in life but it never loses sight of the songs themselves. Tracks such as the title track “The Long Highway” and “The Flow” carry those ideas through stories that stay easy to connect with. Instead of chasing big moments, the band lets the melodies do the work and that choice pays off.
This is a great album with good songwriting and memorable melodies. It has the kind of music I can see myself playing during long summer drives or quiet evenings. I think it’s an amazing addition to any summer playlist. I’m happy that I found this band and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what they do next. This album left a good impression on me.
