British band French Dogs are back with their debut album, “Here’s to Pretending” and it was a great surprise to spend time with this record. I already had the band on my favorite list, so I was excited to hear where they would go next. After listening from start to finish, I can honestly say they delivered an album that kept me interested all the way through. It’s one of the best rock records I’ve heard in months.
The energy here never drops. Every song brings something new and enjoyable without losing the band’s identity. The guitars and drums work so well together and the production is one of the album’s strongest points. The production is polished and has amazing energy, to be honest. I really like how everything sounds clear and well put together. The lyrics are memorable and easy to follow. The melodies are another big reason this album works. I caught myself remembering parts of them after only one listen, which doesn’t happen that often.
I listened to the whole album while I was home alone and I enjoyed every minute of it. Moments like this remind me why I still love blogging after all these years. Finding bands like French Dogs isn’t always easy and discovering a record this good makes the search worth it. I loved every track, every melody, and the creative ideas throughout the album. This band really knows what they’re doing and I’m already looking forward to hearing more from them later this year.
