George Adequate – Shipwrecked

This Irish artist just landed on my radar through “Shipwrecked” a song from his debut album and I loved every second of his singing. George Adequate made a great first impression on me and by the time the song ended I already wanted to hear more of what he has been working on.

He has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard and there is something inviting about the way he delivers each line and it matches the honest lyrics so well that nothing ever sounds out of place. The production is handled with real care, giving every instrument enough room to breathe. The acoustic guitar is great and the violin adds so much to the sound design. I also enjoyed hearing the rest of the arrangement because every instrument has its place and helps build an atmosphere that stays with you. The melodies are warm and easy to connect with, making this one of those songs that quietly keeps your attention until the last note.

This release comes from an artist who has spent years around music before releasing his own debut album which makes the journey even more interesting. You can hear the experience and passion behind his music. I honestly enjoyed every minute of “Shipwrecked”. George Adequate has earned a new listener with this release and I’ll be keeping an eye on what comes next because this was a great introduction to his music.
