Divergent is back with a new single and it’s an amazing listen from start to finish. Their latest release, “I Really Want To Love You (So Bad)” shows a band that knows exactly how to put together a song that stays with you long after it ends. What grabbed me first were the melodies. They are strong, captivating, and easy to remember. The lyrics also leave an impression, carrying the song’s message of wanting a deeper connection with someone while dealing with uncertainty and doubt. It takes a familiar subject and presents it in a way that keeps your attention.
The production and mixing are excellent throughout the track. I really like how everything sits in the right place – allowing the vocals to come through clearly while the instrumentation adds depth and character. The piano, bass, drums, and other musical elements work together smoothly, creating a unique atmosphere that gives the song its own identity. There is a loud and memorable quality to the sound and I really love it.
I like how well-crafted everything sounds. This is a professional band that pays attention to the details. They’re talented and every part of the song seems carefully considered. That level of care makes a difference when listening from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this release. Divergent continues to show why they deserve attention and this new release is another strong example of their songwriting and musicianship. It’s an amazing listen and one I’ll happily come back to again.
