It’s been a while since I sat down to write about a song, but today kind of pushed me back into it. I discovered this artist Laji George and his debut solo single “Alone” and within the first minute I was already caught off guard by how strong his voice is. He really knows how to move between calmer moments and heavier ones without losing control of the track.
The atmosphere of the song is heavy in a good way. The guitars and drums keep this thick wall of sound around his vocals and everything fits together without trying to steal attention from each other. You can hear the grunge influence all over it, but it still sounds personal and fresh.
I really like how honest and heavy the song is. The lyrics deal with isolation and feeling disconnected, and Laji sells that emotion without turning it into something overly theatrical. Some artists oversing songs like this, but he keeps it grounded. That made the melodies hit harder for me.
The production is polished but the raw energy is still there the whole time. I honestly enjoyed every second of his singing. You can tell this project means something real to him, especially knowing this is his first step as a solo artist after Pseutopia. By the end of the track, I just wanted to replay it again with the volume higher.
