Joseph Turner & The Dudes of Hazard just landed on my radar with this beautiful masterpiece “Travelin’ Heart”. I really miss voices like this in today’s scene. There’s something honest about the way Joseph sings here. The soft tone pulled me in right away and by the time the chorus came around, I was already hooked on the whole thing.
The songwriting deserves a lot of credit here. You can hear the care behind every section, especially in the lyrics and the way the melodies move so smoothly through the track. The song talks about travel and getting away from all the heavy things sitting on your shoulders. I mean it’s a great thing to do from time to time.
I also loved the warm atmosphere throughout the track. The acoustic guitar, mandolin and pedal steel blend together really well, and the instrumentation gives the song a full sound. The chorus stayed in my head after the song ended which rarely happens to me lately.
The production and mixing are seriously good too. Everything sounds clean, balanced and well put together. But it still keeps that relaxed spirit alive. Joseph Turner & The Dudes of Hazard delivered something catchy and meaningful here and I’m adding this artist to my favorites list.
