Berlin-based sibling duo moonvine just hit my radar with their new track “cherry spice”. I mean, I didn’t know I liked this kind of sound until now. The track started playing while I was supposed to answer messages and instead I ended up moving around in my chair like an idiot for two minutes straight (haha, had a great time).
The beat catches fast. It’s just slips in and suddenly your desk becomes a dance floor for no reason. The tech house groove carries the whole thing, but there’s also this easy pop touch that keeps it light and fun instead of going too deep into club mode. The instrumental is simple which honestly helps the track more. Every hit lands at the right time and gives the vocal space to stay stuck in your head. Selina’s delivery is catchy and easy to vibe with. She doesn’t oversing it. It sounds relaxed, a little cheeky and fully locked into the rhythm.
I loved how the song sticks to its idea. It’s basically about dropping the overthinking for a minute and enjoying yourself and the duo gets that across without dragging it out. For a debut, moonvine really got something here. I already know I’m trying this one in the car tomorrow night with the windows down a bit.
