I can’t help myself, everyone – I’m completely obsessed with this band. OpCritical is becoming one of those bands I keep coming back to without even thinking twice about it. Every time they release something, I already know I’m going to sit down and give it my full attention. “Not My America” honestly reminded me why I’ve written about them before. This band just gets the kind of music I want to hear right now.
They grabbed me here with the energy. The guitars hit hard, the drums keep everything moving and the vocal delivery has this confident push behind it that works really well with the message. The song keeps moving while still saying something important underneath all the noise.
And that message matters. A lot of bands can make something catchy, but OpCritical know how to mix that with strong lyrics that actually stay in your head after the track ends. The hook repeating “not my America” stayed stuck in my mind while writing this.
This band really knows exactly who they are. This is their sound, their style and their passion. Behind all the guitars and big moments, there’s always a point they’re trying to make. Don’t blame me guys, I’m fully sold on this band already. If they keep releasing songs like this, I’ll probably keep writing about them too.
