Eddie Cohn – Weight of the World

Eddie Cohn has been on my radar for a while now, and honestly, I keep coming back to his music more than I expect. So seeing a new release pop up from him felt like catching up with something familiar.

“Weight of the World” leans into that mix of rock and acoustic sound he does so well. The guitar work carries the song in a great way. It’s not flashy but just right where it needs to be. I really love how everything sits together nicely. Nothing is fighting for space. It’s just a solid blend that makes the track easy to stay with.

This artist has a great writing style and his melodies are captivating. They stick in your head in no time, especially once the chorus hits. That part lands clean and stays in your head after the song ends and I really love it. I found myself singing the chorus by the next morning. His voice is a big part of why this works. There’s a depth to it that makes the delivery memorable and he knows how to ride the rhythm of the song perfectly. It’s controlled but still full of energy.

The production work deserves a mention too. It sounds polished, but not in a way that takes away from the raw edge of the track. You can tell there was care put into how everything was put together. There’s also something about the atmosphere here that is a bit different from the usual. It has its own space, its own tone and that makes it stand apart.

I’ve always liked what Eddie Cohn brings and this track just adds to that. Definitely one I’ll keep in rotation and I’ll be keeping an eye out for whatever he drops next.
