Lady Nade is back with “Identity”, and hearing that voice again was honestly one of the best parts of this album for me. She has one of those vocal tones you could listen to for hours, and from the opening track, it is easy to understand why her singing has stayed with me.
The album begins with the title track “Identity” and it quickly sets the mood. It has a catchy chorus, good energy, and melodies that are easy to remember. I really liked the production and mixing here. Everything sounds clear and well put together which gives Lady’s voice so much room without making the track feel overloaded.
Then there is “Waiting For A Train” sitting around the middle of the album. This one caught me because of the instrumentation and rhythm. I really enjoyed her singing on this track, too. There is a unique atmosphere around it that made me want to stay with the song for a long time.
That is probably what I enjoyed about “Identity” as a whole. Lady Nade brings her folk, Americana, soul, jazz and roots influences together while keeping her unique style at the center. Her smooth delivery works beautifully with the memorable lyrics and catchy melodies. The instrumentation, production and mixing are impressive and give the album a professional sound.
This is a strong new chapter from an artist I already really love. Her voice is the reason I keep coming back, but this album gives me more reasons to stay. Make sure to follow her online!
