I don’t think I have the right words for how much I love Caitty’s voice and music. This Australian artist is back with her debut album, “Slow Like Summer” and I have a feeling this could become one of those releases people keep close this summer.
The album doesn’t come with a heavy or busy sound. Caitty keeps things clean with soft melodies and her angelic voice sitting right in the center and guiding each song. I loved the gentle and catchy way she sings, but her writing got me just as much. The melodies show care and the songs move easily.
The album touches on love, loss, identity and the things we carry after life changes. Those ideas give the album weight, but the music stays easy to enjoy. The choruses are a big part of that and the production, mixing and mastering are all handled with real skill. Her work sounds professional, carefully made and full of passion too. The featured artists also fit her style, but they didn’t take attention from her vocal presence. I loved the whole album, including the bonus track and that says a lot because I usually have a favorite or two rather than enjoying every track.
If country and pop are your kind of music, give this album a listen. For me, it is the kind of album that fits these summer days perfectly. Caitty is clearly a talented artist and I’m excited to hear where she takes her music next.
