Debbie M is back with a new single and I can’t get enough of her vocals and melodies on “Opposite”. There is something about the way she delivers these lines that pulled me in fast. She puts a lot of emotion into her performance, but there is also so much personality in her voice which made me want to keep listening.
The song looks at the habit of repeating the same mistakes even when we already know where they can lead. The lyrics touch on old habits, difficult relationships and those patterns we sometimes find ourselves falling into again. I liked how Debbie keeps that message honest without making the song too heavy. The production works well with her voice. The synth work, beat and bassline give the track a darker electronic edge, while the mixing keeps everything clean and controlled. The instrumental is well crafted and supports her vocals perfectly. I really enjoyed how the melodies stay with you after the song ends.
Debbie M has a great talent for making pop music that has something to say and I think this single is another good example of that. Her vocals are the part I enjoyed most, but the quality of the whole production deserves credit too. I had a great time listening to this one. I’d love to hear where Debbie M takes her sound next because there is definitely more to come from her.
