Michellar is back with a new single and I’m excited to write about it. “Can’t Get You Out of My Mind” is one of those songs that doesn’t try to impress you. It keeps things smooth and simple and that works. The gentle instrumentation gives the track great space while Michellar’s singing carries everything forward with ease. The vocal hook is amazing and will get stuck in your head for a long time.
The song explores the idea of obsessive thoughts that are difficult to let go of and her writing captures that without making it complicated. I really enjoyed the melodies and the lyrics stayed in my head after a couple of listens. She has a way of writing songs that connect with everyone and this single is another good example of that. Everything comes together in a way that is easy to enjoy without making things bigger than it needs to be.
I liked the overall sound and atmosphere of this record. There is a relaxed mood running through the whole track that made me want to play it again and again. Her style continues to grow while keeping the songwriting at the center and I think that is one of her biggest strengths. I’m happy to see Michellar back with another release because she keeps proving that she knows how to write memorable music. I already can’t wait to hear what comes next.
