This is easily one of the best hip-hop tracks I’ve heard in the last few months. Dru Melodics comes out with real confidence on his new single “Skyfall”. After a couple of listens it was obvious this wasn’t just another release passing by. His voice immediately caught my attention. It has depth and the way he delivers every line is smooth and confident from start to end. The flow stays locked in with the beat, the rhythm keeps everything moving and the instrumental fits his style perfectly. The production is solid while the mixing and mastering are excellent. You can also tell this is a completely original piece of work, crafted with care and without relying on shortcuts.
The lyrics carry weight because they are honest. Rather than chasing trends, he tells a story about getting through difficult moments, learning from them and continuing to move forward. That gives the song a meaning beyond its strong sound. I also enjoyed the personality he brings into the performance. Nothing is fake here, it’s simply an artist who knows what he wants to say and delivers it with confidence. This is a great release. I enjoyed listening to it and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what Dru Melodics does next because this is a strong introduction to his music.
