It’s a catchy pop track with nice vocals and honestly it’s a good listen. I’ve been enjoying songs with pop and hip-hop vocals over the last few months and Katie Noir’s new single “I Prefer Jason” gave me another reason to keep following this great style. It has an easygoing sound that pulled me in a few seconds.
The song tells a funny story built around a celebrity wedding where the attention suddenly shifts to Jason instead. It’s playful, catchy and easy to follow with lyrics that stay in your head long after the chorus ends. That chorus is my favorite part because it brings the whole track together and keeps the energy moving. The production is excellent, of course, and the mixing is just as strong. You can notice that everything sits together nicely while the instrumental matches the vocals without either one taking over. Nothing sounds out of place and that balance helps the song stay catchy from start to end.
Katie Noir has a style that mixes storytelling with memorable pop writing and it works well here. Her voice is catchy and her performance keeps the idea light without pushing the joke too far which makes the song enjoyable even after a few listens. I had a really good time with this release. I liked the artist’s sound, the catchy melodies and especially the lyrics. It’s one of those songs that’s easy to put on again and I’m already excited to hear what Katie shares next.
