Are you going to believe me if I say I spent almost an hour with this 10-minute track? I wasn’t doing anything else. Every time it ended, I pressed replay again. It isn’t because it’s made for dancing or summer playlists. That’s not the point. Rorksha pulled me into another place and I happily stayed there longer than I planned.
I’ve heard thousands of tracks in this style over the years of blogging but I honestly can’t think of another that gave me this kind of journey. It grows little by little until everything opens up without losing its direction. The French vocals were such a smart choice. I really can’t picture another language fitting this atmosphere the same way. They become part of the music instead of taking it over.
Then there are the guitars. Especially that part between 5:55 and 6:32, I completely lost track of time. That section alone made me replay the whole track again. The guitars stay with you through almost the entire piece while the sounds and little effects around it quietly build something that stays in your head.
The lyrics speak about being a reef and an anchor for someone facing their darkest moments and that message blends into the music perfectly. This is one of those rare pieces that puts the music and atmosphere ahead of everything else, leaving space for your own thoughts and memories. Rorksha gave me one of the best hours I’ve had in a long time. I already know I’ll keep coming back to this whenever I need a little peace.
