It’s getting late and I wasn’t planning to write many reviews tonight, so I wanted to pick something simple. Hidden Sector’s new single “Harmonic Surrender” ended up being the right choice and I’m glad it did. It’s another release from an artist who clearly has a real passion for making music.
The track moves at its own pace with a calm downtempo direction that gave me time to enjoy every part of it. The production and sound design stay simple, but that’s exactly why they work so well. Instead of filling every second with extra ideas, the track lets each sound have its place, and before I knew it, I was completely lost in its atmosphere. It honestly took me somewhere else for a few minutes.
The rhythm keeps everything together, the beats are clean and every element sounds carefully chosen. Small details appear as the track grows, making the whole journey interesting without changing its relaxed mood. I had a great time listening to this masterpiece. Hidden Sector has created something special here and for me it turned into one of those songs that doesn’t need to be loud to leave an impression. I’ll happily come back to this one whenever I need a quiet break from everything else.
