I just discovered this beautiful masterpiece from the talented Roxy Rawson and I honestly enjoyed listening to her voice from beginning to end. Her new single “South Sudan” was one of those songs that stayed with me after it finished and I knew I had to play it again. There is something honest about the way she sings and that honesty carries the whole song.
Her voice is the heart of everything here. She has an impressive vocal range, a strong delivery and a tone that is soft but still catches your attention. I loved every second of her singing because it never sounded forced. It simply matched the message she wanted to share. The melodies are soft and captivating and the instrumentation gave them even more depth. The song was inspired by her time with communities in Sudan which made the lyrics even more meaningful. They are sincere, full of hope and written from real experience. You can tell she believes every word she sings and that gave the song even more weight.
I truly enjoyed this release. Roxy Rawson is a talented artist with a voice I could listen to for hours, and her new single is one I’ll happily keep coming back to because of its message, its melodies and the honesty behind every note.
