LaCosta Tucker is back on my radar with a new single called “Your Shadow’s Gone” and I honestly loved every second of it. It didn’t take long before I caught myself getting pulled into the song. There is something about the way everything comes together that kept me interested until the last note.
The melodies were the first thing that grabbed me. They stay with you and the chorus is one of those moments that keeps replaying in your head after the song ends. The lyrics are catchy and were easy for me to remember parts of them after only one listen.
I also spent a lot of time paying attention to the guitars and the instrumentation. There are plenty of small details happening behind her singing and they add so much without getting in the way. The production is professional and every part has enough space to breathe, making the song easy to enjoy from beginning to end.
LaCosta’s voice is memorable and that’s one of the biggest reasons this song works so well. She delivers every line with confidence and it fits the style of the track perfectly. The song touches on moving beyond the past and leaving old shadows behind, and that message comes across without sounding heavy-handed.
I’m really happy she is making new music because this reminded me why I enjoyed her work in the first place. For me, this is one of those songs I’ll gladly play again and I can’t wait to hear what she releases next.
