Audren is one of those artists I keep coming back to every week. So seeing her new single “We Want Funkey!” pop up honestly made my day a little better. I played this song while cleaning the room and ended up dancing to the sound. That bass line grabs you fast and after that the whole track just keeps moving with this fun dance energy that’s hard to ignore.
The song actually sounds really really funky instead of just borrowing the style for a few seconds. The groove is great and the chorus will stick in your head. The mixing is excellent and the production gives every part enough room to shine. I loved the instrumentation. Everything here adds small details that kept me replaying the song over and over.
Her voice is catchy and easy to listen to. She sounds relaxed and her melodies carry the song perfectly. Even the lyrics matched the upbeat mood without becoming cheesy. There’s also this message behind the fun about getting tired of bad news and wanting joy again which made the song hit a bit more for me.
She really never fails to make me sit down and listen to her music. This single put me in a good mood immediately and I’m just happy she’s still making songs like this. See you with another review!
