I just discovered this amazing artist Project Rod Williams and his new cover release “So Over You”. I played this emotional record yesterday when my kids were asleep. I really liked how heavy the atmosphere sits around the song without drowning it. It opens in a way that already sounds tense. Like somebody finally reached the point where they’re done carrying anger around. That chorus is amazing. It’s big, emotional and easy to get stuck in your head.
The guitars brought a lot of character to this release for me. Same with the drums. They give the song real weight. I also liked how the production keeps shifting little details in the background. The sound is rich and powerful, especially during the darker moments where the lyrics start cutting deeper. You can hear the pain behind the words.
The melodies are captivating and kept pulling me back in. The whole track carries this raw honesty that stayed with me long after it finished. Even the AI-generated music video matched the mood really well and added another layer to the experience. I’d honestly love to hear more releases like this because you can tell Rod Williams cares deeply about every part of the music. This is one I’ll come back to.
