Albert Eno just dropped his new single “Stay” with Frida Bollani Magoni. The song is so touching and full of raw emotions. I had it playing late at night when lights were off. I was just sitting there and it kind of held me in place. Frida’s voice is soooo captivating. Her harmonies slide in softly but they change everything. It’s like the song leans on her for a second and suddenly gets heavier in the best way.
Albert Eno really carries this. He’s one of those artists you don’t hear about enough which is strange because his voice has so much weight. You can hear the emotion in his delivery, especially in the chorus. It rises without needing anything extra just his voice doing the work.
The song is not busy. It’s very simple. Piano leads the way and the instrumentation is well put together. Toward the end, that piano part stands out even more, like the song slowly clears space for it.
You can tell this came from real time spent together on stage. It’s honest and direct. I kept replaying the chorus after it ended. That’s usually my sign. I really liked this one and I’ll be keeping an eye on Albert Eno from now on.
