The second I saw Sabina Chantouria’s name pop up again, my mind went straight back to “Changes”. I remember writing about that one last year and thinking I’d probably keep an eye on whatever she does next. So I pressed play on her new single “Can’t Let You Go” with that in mind.
This one pulls you in pretty quickly. The verses are softer. Like she’s holding something back and then the chorus opens up and you can hear that push in her voice. That switch works really well. It’s not forced at all. Just smooth movement between the two sides of the song.
Her voice is pure and sounds like a piece of heaven. There’s a weight to it, especially in the chorus, where she leans in a bit more. You can tell she means what she’s singing. I didn’t catch myself drifting at any point which says a lot actually.
The writing feels honest again, like she’s not trying to dress things up too much. It’s about holding on when you probably shouldn’t, that space between staying and letting go. It’s not complicated, just real thoughts put into words. The production is polished and well put together. There’s a warmth to it that makes the whole song easy to stay with from start to finish. The melodies help a lot. They kind of stick in your head on your first listen.
I loved the video. It fits the song really well. Same mood, same feeling, nothing out of place. It adds so much to the whole experience. I think it’s safe to say I really like her sound. There’s something unique about it and she knows how to keep things interesting. I’ll be honest. She’s slowly winning me over with each release. I’d definitely like to hear more.
