This beautiful song, “sweater pulled over my knees,” by singer and songwriter Madison Rae Lutz, will leave you stuck on constant repeat for a long long time! The minute we heard Madison’s voice we got hooked on it and we couldn’t take it out of our heads! She has one of the most charming voices we’ve ever heard and her vocal performance in this song is more than professional…it’s on another level which shows how talented she is. There is an amazing level of songwriting that shines up through this record, and the vocal melodies are very catchy. The guitar is beautiful, the atmosphere is warm, and the production is smart and sounds very professional. This song is a unique experience from start to finish, and it’s definitely the perfect choice for this weather.
WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“I wanted to capture the feelings of safety, peace, and comfort you get from finding people that feel like home. The spoken samples are pulled directly from videos I have from a road trip to visit my best friend and they help to create a world that feels both in and out of time—like reading a diary entry. Through the use of acoustic guitar, swelling strings, and the pitter-patter of rain, this song sounds as cozy as a sweater in autumn feels.
Although I finished writing this song last fall, I felt myself drawn back to it now as a way of accessing security, warmth, and intimacy—feelings that have felt especially distant throughout the difficulties of this year. This song isn’t flashy. It isn’t brash or particularly bold. This song is a quiet comfort that I think we could all use right now.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Madison is the stranger who earns your trust with just a glance and a smile. However, within that unassuming demeanor lies a strength that’s both undeniable and inexplicable. Having a rather sheltered small-town childhood, Madison turned to storytelling to have the adventures she craved. However, she never saw her childlike wonder as a drawback but instead used that curiosity and courage in her work.
Since moving to NYC, she now trains at the MN Acting Studio—having previously trained in voiceover acting with Roger Becker and the Meisner technique at the T. Schreiber Studio.
She has played lead roles in thesis films for the New School and Hofstra University as well as appearing in the popular web series, Ghosts of Fort Greene. Madison will also star in Spring Valley High, an upcoming NYU TV series being produced through Stonestreet Studios
In her free time, you can find Madison playing Dungeons & Dragons as a gnome sorcerer, streaming video games on Twitch, rewatching her favorite Disney films, and taking care of her many plants.
