I really loved this feel-good anthem from Broken Colours. “Now Or Never” is the kind of guitar-led indie rock track that gets going without making a big deal about it and I had a great time listening to it. The band brings a lively edge to their sound, but there is still enough melody to keep everything easy to get into. It’s one of the best tracks I’ve heard this year!
The guitars and drums are a big part of why this works for me. They give the song its energy and keep it moving while the vocal melodies sit nicely over the top. Tony Goff gives the track a strong performance and I liked how his delivery works with the lyrics. There is also a message here about embracing an opportunity, taking a chance, and going after what you want. That gives the upbeat sound a little more meaning.
I really liked the atmosphere here. The chorus is amazing with a hook that may get stuck in your head for days. So don’t be surprised if you found yourself singing it by the next morning. The production sounds professional and I really liked the vocal mixing.
Broken Colours is a professional band that cares about what they are making in their music. You can hear that care in the playing, the production and the little details throughout the song. I loved their sound here and I would be happy to hear whatever they bring next. This is a band I will be keeping an ear on.
