I really don’t have enough words to explain how much I loved the work of Marston and Baldi on their new single “Hope In The Darkness”. There’s a confidence in this collaboration that comes from people who have spent years learning their craft. The song starts with a warm acoustic sound and slowly opens up, giving the emotional side of the writing room to land. Matthew Marston’s vocals carry the song with honesty and power while Giorgio Baldi’s guitar work and production give everything a strong musical foundation. The instrumentation is well put together and the mixing keeps each part clear without taking attention from the character of the performance.

The lyrics are original and well written. They touch on self-discovery, personal growth and finding hope when things are not exactly easy. There’s real weight in the words, but the song never gets stuck there. You can hear the experience behind this duo project, but I think the passion matters just as much. This single is a great listen with strong songwriting, good sound, and musicians who know how to make their skills work together. There is so much here to come back to again and again. I loved hearing what these two created here and I’ll definitely be following Marston and Baldi from now on.
