Brennan Gilmore – My Name is Daniel Leek

This 13-track album is the perfect way to spend a peaceful evening at home with nothing else to do but sit back and enjoy every minute of it. Brennan Gilmore’s new release “My Name Is Daniel Leek” slowly pulled me into its world and before long I wasn’t thinking about anything else. It opens the door in a simple way, then keeps giving you reasons to stay until the final track.

The production is excellent and the mix keeps everything balanced. I really loved the melodies of these songs. The atmosphere of the album is another big reason I enjoyed it so much. Every song adds something to the journey, making the whole record worth hearing from start to end. Gilmore clearly put a lot of care into his songwriting and delivery. His voice has a great tone that fits these songs well and his performance stayed with me after the album was over. The record also carries an interesting story, drawing inspiration from a name written on the wall of a refugee shelter and building a larger picture around identity, distance, and the lives people leave behind. Those ideas give the album extra meaning and great messages.

I honestly had a great time with this release. The lyrics and melodies kept me interested all the way through. Brennan Gilmore is a talented artist and this is an album I’ll gladly come back to because it’s honest, memorable and made with real care.
