OpCritical are back with another strong release and this is already the fourth time we’ve covered them here. That says a lot because we’re still enjoying what this band brings with every new song. Their latest single, “Liar Liar” is another reminder that they aren’t making music just to fill the background. Every release arrives with something worth thinking about and I like that they stay committed to saying something instead of playing it safe.
The track mixes rock and punk with the kind of energy that keeps everything moving. Yes, the lyrics carry a political message about people who gain power through lies and use it for themselves, but the band never forgets the music itself. The production sounds professional and every instrument has its place and the melodies stick in your head after your first listen. I also like how the band keeps improving without losing the style that first caught my attention. There is a lot happening in this track. The band pays attention to the small details and that care shows from start to finish.
I had a great time with this strong release and it keeps the streak going for this band. After covering four singles, I’m still looking forward to hearing what’s next and I’ll gladly keep supporting OpCritical because they continue delivering music that leaves an impression long after it ends.
