Hi everyone! One of the rarest bands I’ve enjoyed over the last few weeks has to be Sour Bridges. This band is one of my favorite discoveries to be honest. Their new single “Big City” caught my attention right away and the more I listened the more I love what they created here.
The song has a soft and gentle sound that never tries too hard. It just lets the melodies do the work and they stay with you long after the music ends. The lyrics are original and well written but not complicated. They’re telling a story about discovering a place where music becomes part of everyday life. I really have to mention the vocal delivery here, because it was one of my favorite parts of the song. It fits the mood perfectly and carries the lyrics with confidence. The instrumentation is great and deserves credit. It’s simple and gives the vocals all the room they need. You can notice that every piece works together and that’s a big reason why the song is so enjoyable.
I really like the overall quality of the band’s sound and love how everything is put together with care. From the recording to the performance and it shows throughout the song. There is a relaxed charm here that kept bringing me back for another listen. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Sour Bridges from now on. If this is the level of music they continue to release. I’ll be more than happy to cover whatever comes next because they’ve earned a spot on my daily playlist.
