Ghost Moon Echo recently released their single Black Is the New Black and it didn’t take long for me to understand why this band caught my attention. Their music carries that classic guitar-driven sound without trying to copy the past and this song is a great example of that.
The first thing that grabbed me was the hook. It stayed with me after the song ended, while the smooth rhythm kept everything moving at an easy pace. The melodies fit perfectly with the lyrics, making every section easy to enjoy without sounding repetitive. I also liked how the vocal melodies blended with the rest of the band.
The atmosphere throughout the track kept me interested from beginning to end. The instrumentation is put together really well, and every part has its place. You can hear that these musicians know exactly what they want their songs to sound like, and they deliver it with confidence and plenty of energy. Knowing that the band has roots connected to musicians from Nina Hagen‘s longtime lineup also makes their experience easy to appreciate, but the music speaks for itself.
After spending time with Black Is the New Black, I came away impressed by this amazing band. I loved the sound they created, I loved this band, and I honestly enjoyed every minute of the song. It’s a great rock track with strong melodies, solid playing, and an atmosphere that kept bringing me back. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what Ghost Moon Echo releases next.
