I think it’s become obvious that Audren is one of my favorite artists. I’ve covered most of her recent releases and still want to hear more from her, so I’m more than happy to share her new album, “Think Freedom”.
This record offers a little bit of everything with its 11 tracks, but it never sounds scattered. Audren has a way of bringing different ideas together while keeping her own identity at the center of the music. One thing I kept coming back to was her soft vocals. They sit perfectly inside the songs and work hand in hand with the gentle instrumentals which are carefully arranged and full of small details that keep the album interesting.
The melodies are another big reason why this album stayed with me. Some songs stuck in my head long after they ended and I found myself going back to them throughout the day. ( The Good Road, We’re All Lost, We Want Funkey!). Audren continues to build her own musical world and I still enjoy the creative choices she makes from one release to the next.
The production across these songs is professional and solid. There are smart ideas throughout the album but they never get in the way of the songwriting. The record carries a message about the world around us while encouraging people to look for something better.
I’ve had this album playing on repeat on my speakers all day long. I loved every second of it, especially the atmosphere she creates from beginning to end. She has one of those rare voices I never get tired of hearing and this release only strengthened my respect for her work.
