Alex Winters – Break In

Good morning everyone! Not sure if you heard about Alex Winters yet, but she’s making serious waves with her new single “Break In”. The first thing that pulled me into this song was how soft it starts. Just Alex and that acoustic guitar sitting right behind her voice. No rush and no big move yet. I liked that a lot – it felt like she trusted the song to take its time.

She is a talented singer and songwriter. Her voice is warm and carries most of the weight here. There’s something easy about the way she sings. But at the same time you can hear she means every line. The lyrics are honest and emotional and that made me pay closer attention. The song built slowly and I liked that. That last minute hits and everything opens up – the guitars get stronger, the whole sound lifts and it finally pushes outward. That was my favorite part.

I also want to point out the production work here. It’s solid, balanced and you can hear every piece and sound. The guitars are great and they add just enough weight without taking over her voice. The mix keeps everything in place which made the whole listen smooth from start to finish.

Alex Winters has a style that leans into emotion but keeps it listenable and catchy. That’s not easy to pull off, but she does it well here. I stayed with this one until the very last second, and honestly, I’d play it again without thinking twice.
