Any time I see JCCutter’s name pop up. I already expect I’m about to get pulled in for a few minutes and his new single “Vegas Days” did exactly that again. I put it on once just to see what it was about, then let it run back without even thinking.
The song sits in that mix of rock, folk and a bit of alternative country and it feels comfortable there. The rhythm has a steady push and the whole thing carries this loose and wild energy that fits the idea of a Vegas story pretty well.
The chorus is the part that really stuck with me. It hits harder than the verses and has that kind of lift that makes you want to turn the volume up a little. I found myself waiting for it the second time through which is usually a good sign for me.
His voice plays a big role here and carries the weight of this song in a great way. The lyrics are playful and catchy. I also liked how the melody sticks in your head after just one listen. For me, this is one of those songs that’s just easy to keep around. It’s fun, it’s got personality, and it doesn’t drag. I’ll probably come back to it more than I expect.
